Markers
Eight colours and eleven hard-edged shapes, drawn with Land Nav 1's own code.
A marker's name is its map label, so a short name like "CKP 3" works the way codes do on military and incident maps.
Drawn by Tools/render-markers.swift, a line-for-line port of Land Nav 1's Helpers/MarkerAssets.swift.
Solid shapes: a 4 pt dark stroke under a solid fill, which leaves a hard dark edge. Line shapes (check, circle X): a 6 pt dark stroke
under a 2 pt colour stroke.
Colours
Red, orange, yellow, green, cyan, blue, purple, white. Blue is new, for friendly teams and incident facilities. White is new and replaces v1's grey, which is weak on every base map. No black: a black shape with a dark edge disappears on satellite and on the dark panel. No brown, though ICS uses it for dog teams: it vanishes on satellite and topo.

Shapes
Every v1 shape is kept, so existing markers look the same. New: X, check, circle X (Army coordination point), diamond, star (Army decision point) and pennant. Shapes are marks, not pictures: a person, vehicle or camp goes in the name.

Map labels
To the right of the marker, one line, 15 pt bold, as in LandNav 1. Changed from v1: white with a black halo on satellite and black with a white halo on light maps, instead of the marker's colour. Blue, red and purple text is hard to read on satellite, and the marker already shows the colour.

PShort codes
There is no separate code field: a short name is the code, and Markdown notes carry the detail. The name field suggests these as you type; anything else works. The marker beside each code is a suggested pairing, not a rule.
Sources: Army is ADRP 1-02. ICS is the ICS-420 search mission symbols, which ASTM F1846 (land search maps) follows. NWCG is PMS 936, the US wildfire incident map standard. SAR is common search practice with no standard behind it. ICS colours: blue for incident facilities, red for search clues and hazards, and teams by type (green field, brown dog, yellow tracking dog, purple horse or helicopter, orange special, blue water). "DP" clashes: decision point to the Army, drop point in wildfire.
